About the Webinar

This Certification was mentored by Dr. Garima Pal Ma’am. Dr. Garima Pal Ma’am is an accomplished Assistant Professor and a renowned scholar in the fields of Criminology, Victimology, and Human Rights. She holds a PhD with a focused and impactful research study on “Drug Abuse and Alcoholism and the Role of Rehabilitation Centers in Uttarakhand,” reflecting her deep engagement with contemporary social and criminal justice issues.

Dr. Pal Ma’am brings with her a rich blend of academic excellence and practical research experience. She has served as a Research Associate at the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi, and as a Project Coordinator at National Law University, Delhi, working on projects funded by prestigious institutions such as the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the National Commission for Women.

Her scholarly contributions are both extensive and influential. Dr. Pal Ma’am is the author of several significant publications, including “The Palghar Report: Status of Project Affected Families in Palghar” published by Mohan Law House, “Hate Crime in India” published by Springer Nature, and works on the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 with Whitemann and Co. Her recent publication with BRILL Publishers, Netherlands, on the theme of “Criminalisation” (Volumes I & II), has attained notable legal relevance, having been submitted before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court in an ongoing matter—highlighting the real-world impact of her research.

Beyond academia, Dr. Garima Pal Ma’am is actively engaged in legal advocacy and public interest litigation. She recently filed a PIL before the Bombay High Court concerning the appointment of a custodian for the effective execution of living wills, underscoring her strong commitment to human rights and legal reform.

Currently, Dr. Pal Ma’am is leading a research project funded by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and has recently submitted major research proposals to ICSSR and the National Commission for Women, focusing on Social Media Intermediary Guidelines and Women Policing in the State of Maharashtra.

In this webinar, our esteemed mentor guides law students and law graduates on victim rights, particularly in the often-overlooked context of men as victims of crime.
