This masterclass on “From Clicks to Compliance: Digital Consent, Privacy Obligations and Compliance under the DPDP Act, 2023″ is a subject that sits right at the intersection of law, technology, and everyday digital behaviour — and we are truly privileged to have a highly qualified expert to guide us through it.

It is my honour to introduce our esteemed resource person for today, Shivani Ma’am, Ms. Shivani Patel. Ma’am completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Government New Law College, Indore and went on to specialise in Cyber Law and Information Security with a Master’s degree from National Law Institute University, Bhopal, building a strong foundation at the crossroads of law, technology, and governance.

Currently, Shivani Ma’am is working as an IT Security Analyst with FIS Global, one of the world’s leading fintech organisations, where she conducts internal audits aligned with ISO 27001, ISO 27701 (PIMS) and data privacy laws, supports control testing programmes, and works on TISAX-based readiness assessments and control mappings to strengthen information security and privacy compliance frameworks. In the past, Ma’am has been associated with C3iHub, IIT Kanpur as an ISMS Compliance Intern, and has gained rich exposure through her experience with law firms, individual advocates, and the Madhya Pradesh State Information Commission, working on RTI, regulatory research, and legal processes at the interface of technology and governance.

Shivani Ma’am is also a Certified Cyber Crime Intervention Officer with ISAC and an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Lead Auditor, bringing both technical and legal rigour to her work in data protection and information security. Her research spans critical contemporary themes such as Generative AI and its impact on privacy, implementation of ISO 27001 with business continuity in the healthcare sector, and a comparative analysis of ISO 27701 with the DPDP Act, 2023—making her uniquely placed to decode how global standards and India’s new data protection regime align in practice.

With this blend of data privacy expertise, cybersecurity audit experience, legal training, and hands-on research on the DPDP Act, the speaker guides participants on how organisations can move “from clicks to compliance” in the digital age.
